Victoria Falls Safaris
The ‘Smoke that thunders’, as it was known by the locals, is truly one of earth’s great natural wonders. Lying across the Zambezi River, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Victoria Falls is a colossus. It may not be the highest waterfall in the world but it is the most dramatic, with more water flowing over it per annum than anywhere else in the world.
The falls can be viewed from the Zambian side and the Zimbabwean side – the best view depending on the time of year and the extent of the preceding rainy season. What is assured is an awe-inspiring sight.
The Victoria Falls area is Africa’s adventure capital with any number of white-knuckle activities to choose from, including white-water rafting, bungi jumping and gorge swinging. Ideally situated at the center of the safari destinations of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana the Victoria Falls are a great way to start or end an African safari.
